Is fear and doubt running your business?

I meet a lot of business owners who say they want to take their business to the next level, make a lot of money, and make a great impact in this world, but when it comes down to it, they are not doing what it takes to get there.

Often, the reason they are not doing what they need to do is because they are frozen in fear and doubt.

I recently spoke with a business owner who said she knew what she needed to do, but she couldn’t get herself to do it no matter how much she wanted her business to grow. She was afraid of doing the things she needed to do and make the investments she needed to make to take her business to the next level.

As a result, her business was staying in the same place, and she wasn’t making enough money to live the lifestyle she wanted. In fact she was giving up a lot and living on just bare necessities.

I recently  made a large investment in my business that brought up a lot of fear for me. I hadn’t made this kind of investment in my business before but I knew it was the right thing to do to take my business to the next level. The day after committing to the investment, I made more money in my business than my entire investment, and more than I had ever made in one month in my business!

This does not come as a surprise to me as I’ve seen this happen many times both in my own life and my clients’. When you are taking the action you need to take, you’re telling the Universe that you are serious, and ready to move forward.

When you take a leap of faith, the Universe supports you and rewards you.

But there’s an epidemic of fear going on in the small business world. So many talented business owners who are terrified of taking the steps they need to take to get where they want to go. They run their business based on fear and doubt and make their decisions accordingly.

What do you really want? And why do you want that? If you are not taking the steps to get there, what’s holding you back? What are you afraid of?

If the answer is not obvious I recommend you sit down and do some journaling or meditation around it to find out what’s stopping you.

I suggest you make a commitment to yourself today that you will no longer make decisions based on fear and doubt and that you are going to start doing what you need to do to get the results you are looking for and to shift your mindset.

What is the biggest challenge you have with regards to growing your business?
I struggle with identifying my target market. I kow who my great customers are, but I don’t know what trait it is that they all have that makes them my perfect client. They are great people who I enjoy doing business with, but they comes from different industries. So I’m always asking myself , if I were to market myself, who would I market to? It is very frustrating and it leaves me in a very stuck place. I’ve been stuck there for a long time and I’m ready to find the answers I’m looking for so that I can become un-stuck and create more business for my company.

Linda, you are bringing up an important question. Being able to identify your target market is important for a few reasons. 1) By knowing your target market you know who to market your services to. 2) When you market to a specific type of customer your customer relates to you as you are talking directly to their needs and problems. Because you’re not talking to everyone, but to a specific group of people, you will be an expert in working with the people in your target market. I hear your concern Linda. However, you don’t have to have a target market to succeed, but it makes it a lot easier to market yourself when you do. As you have had a business that has been filled through referrals you didn’t need to market yourself or pick a target market to be successful. However, as you are growing and starting to market your business, it will helpful for you to get more clear on your target market now. Questions you can ask yourself are: Who do I most enjoy working with? Who am I best at helping? Who need my help most? Who can afford to pay me and want my services? You don’t necessarily have to pick people in the same kinds of industries but they could have a specific problem they need solved.

I want to show you how to use your mind to manifest your wildest dreams and create your own heaven on earth while living life on purpose, and serving the people you are here to serve.

In my 20 years as a small business owner, one thing is crystal clear to me: What helps you thrive is not your not your intelligence, level of experience or skill-set, but the programming in your subconscious mind. You can be programmed for struggle and lack, or flow and abundance. In my work, I help you reprogram your mind for success and abundance so you can create a prosperous and fulfilling life living your life’s calling and doing the work you came here to do.
