At the beginning of the year, you probably set out excited with a vision and a mission for what you were going to do this year. What you wanted to accomplish, what you wanted to stop doing, what you wanted to start doing and where you wanted to be in your business and your life by the end of the year. As the year is getting to a close, now is the time to do an end of year reflection

First of all, I want you to know, you are just where you need to be right now. Beating yourself up because you are not where you wanted to be will not do you any good. Promise to not judge yourself, OK?

Let’s review your year, shall we?

I invite you to grab a notebook, sit down in your favorite chair, grab a cup of tea (or your favorite drink), turn on some music and do whatever you need to do to get in the groove and let’s start writing down:

What can you celebrate having done, overcome, let go of and achieved this year? I want you to list everything that comes to mind. So often we get hung up on what we didn’t do and we forget to focus on all the magical things we actually did, learned, and accomplished. Write down everything, even the small stuff.

What were the lessons you learned this year?

What were the blessings? Hint; sometimes something will happen that you didn’t plan on that might have felt like a challenge or a struggle, but you may have found out afterward it was a blessing.

Where did you fall short? Taking an honest look at yourself, what do you think is the reason you fell short? Maybe you didn’t follow through on what you said you would do, maybe you doubted yourself, maybe you didn’t have the skills, the tools, the support, the mindset or the strategies to get you there? Try to pinpoint what was holding you back now so that you now can use this insight to move beyond it and not let it hold you back next year.

What needs to change? How are you going to do things differently next year? Are you committed to do and be what it takes to reach your goals for the next year?

Now that you have this clarity, I want you to pat yourself on the back and congratulate yourself for how far you have come – no matter where you are.

It’s time to release, and let go and open up for the miracles to come through in the New Year!
